Hey-o hows it all goin?

First off Happy B-day to Nats love ya bunch!!!!!!
Well so this week was good.  I went on splits with Elder Castillo he´s super buff hahaha and he´s just a dope guy but I was really nervous xbaan naq.  We both don't know super good Qeqchi but as always our loving Heavenly Father is always there and helps us and we did work so all in all really successful divisions!!!
But I really want to talk about this Sunday it was awesome!  So I always talk about this one place its called San Vicente and its a 5 hour walk up a mountain to get to this little village but every Thursday we hop in the back of a truck and get up there in a hour. There is this family who has a son out on a mission and the parents aren't baptized and they came to church.  They woke up at 2 in the morning walked down the mountain and made it to church and it was so awesome.  They told us if a truck couldn't come get them they would come to church so they came and we are visiting them this Thursday wooooo!  Wait but that's not all they said they have a lot of people who are sick of the church up there and want the truth so we are calling them and we are having a giant lesson but wow that was the best Sunday ever and we had investigators at church so that was awesome!!!
But on our divisions we had a kind of weird experience. Our baptism date her name is Vilma her older brother Ceasar who we taught but we had to drop cause he just wasn't progressing.  We saw his dad holding him by a rope and he was like punching and screaming so we went to go help his dad carry him home and so we went and he was so bolo so drunk wow and we like tried to pick him up and he just would punch and kick so we just had to leave him in the street.  It's so sad how like he had his chance to change but he just didn't want it and its just sad but life goes on it was just sad to see him like that!!!
Well I love you all be safe and share the gospel!!!

Oh wow what a week!  It was so hot and long but I love the work so its worth it!!!
First don't be jealous of the heat I have decided I am moving to Alaska right after I get home because its just sooooo hot!!! JK I won't go to Alaska!!
And now to my Hermanita Rachel HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOMORROW WOOOOO!  I will celebrate it with a nice big bowl of beans and tortillas yum hahaha!!!
So this week me and my comp just had a sit down on Tuesday and we just talked about how we could become better missionaries and have more success.  We decided the answer -  OBEDIENCE. It's not like we were disobedient but we just like found so many little rules that nobody pays attention to, so we have been working with that and stuff.  This week has been so hard and full of trials.  None of our investigators came to church yesterday and the Lord has been trying our patience and diligence here, but we our going strong.
But I had a good experience this week.  On Saturday we went to visit this family that lives in this little village in the mountains and it takes a hour and a half to get there then another hour back.  We went and we finally got to their house and just the kids were there so we sang for them said a prayer then went back home.  It was so hot going home and I had already drank all of my water and my shirt was soaked and it was just hot!  We finally get back to Kanlun and the first thing we do is go to a little store for bolsas de agua and maakaa nothing so we start for another store that's far away, then out of nowhere this guy just comes up to us with two bags of water and is like you guys look like you need water, what a guy!!!  But lets ask ourselves who really sent him?  Of course our loving Heavenly Father.  It was just a little tender mercy but I am so grateful for that blessing of water that hot day.  So always thank him for all of the tender mercies never forget to thank him in your prayers.
So one of our members got dear johned yesterday by his girl on a mission. He was quite upset so what does he do he calls his last convert in Honduras and just straight up asks her to marry him and what does she say, she said yes, so that was super cool hahaha!!!
Well I love you all so much.  Stay strong continue forward and never forget our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  If you forget him you have lost everything!!!  Peace out love you all!!!

Hey,

Hows everyone doing back in good old nice and cool Utah?

Enjoy the cold for me please it is now officially summer in Guatemala and oh freak it is so miserable.  I just sweat and sweat.   I sometimes just get angry in my studies cause it is just so hot 24 hours and the only way to cool down is a nice cold shower, I love cold showers!!

If you all are wondering why I am writing at 8 in the morning its because I am in Coban.  Our zone is being rewarded for our hard work so we get a day in the city. I feel super spoiled I just ate a sausage mcmuffin sooooo good hahaha!!!
So this past week was good we have been working so hard every night, I just come home and crash everyday, but that's good.

Elder Griff's and I fasted last week to find a new family and on Friday we did. It was cool they are a family of 6 but they aren't married aghhhhh so frustrating!  We will be patient and diligent and work with them but they have never been to any church and they have a really great family so I am happy. The missionary work here is good we are super busy everyday and I just get so tired and sweaty the sun is so hot oh my gosh.. anyways we teach a ton the problem is getting them to church.  Sundays are so rough on me I just want to give up on Sundays cause no body comes to church its so frustrating so if you have any ideas let me know!!!

We also made a fire and roasted marshmallows and hot dogs and made smores hahaha we did all this to celebrate one more change in Kanlun so forward we go into the hot sun!!

I am really enjoying learning Qeqchi its getting fun. I have enough of the grammar to teach like for five minutes but learning the vocab is fun hahaha.  My favorite word I learned this week was flashlight its Kaxlan xam chicken fire hahaha this language is crazy!   I remember when I first heard Qeqchi and it sounded like an alien language but now i can understand and even speak a little but of course its so not my brain.  I am being so blessed with this language so I am extremely grateful for my Heavenly Father.

Well I love you all so much enjoy the week and be safe!!

Hey so this past week was slow for us here in Kánlun.  We were super stoked for changes to see where everyone is going but I guess the most important thing is me and Elder Griffs are staying.  He is going to complete 6 months here so he is excited and so am I.

So let me answer questions . . . It doesn't rain here it is soooooo hot like I honestly have not stopped sweating since at least a week ago and it is so hard to fall asleep.   I have my fan on full blast and still it is soooooo hot I just wake up drenched but I love this place so its all good.

Marcos we had to drop him, I am embarrassed to tell you guys but he told us he didn't want to stop drinking so now he goes and gets drunk every day and night it just makes me so sad and sick cause I love him.   He just doesn't have the strength to go forward so maybe someday.

The rivers are really low we can't look down at the river cause women bathe there so we just keep our eyes down hahaha!  Yes I want to go fishing! People here have harpoon guns to go fishing with and they dive so I am dying but I won't hahaha and there are some huge fish here and they all look weird too.

We are trying to focus on finding men that we can baptize for this next change... we have some good solid baptism dates and some good investigators its just hard to baptize men because they either are drunks or fornicators.   Elder Griffs and I did a fast for this next change so I have faith!

Nothing really happened this last week one of our investigators Cesar didn't come to church because he was working in his cornfield when this guy on drugs came and chopped part of his hand off with a machete!  We visited him and gave him a blessing.  Cesar is 17 almost Priesthood but not quite but hopefully all goes well with him!!

So one day for language study we wrote a rap in Qeqchi hahah!
Laaín laj Kaqi´tul nakanaw ain

Well thats all the deets for this week and oh ya so Kanlun is very beautiful but it doesn't compare to most areas in the Polochic or Senahu or Chulac so just you all wait for some good pics!!!

Well I love you all so much thanks for your prayers.  Love you guys stay safe!!
